Job Description

We are searching for a human resource generalist for a pharmaceutical company in Rockville, Maryland.

The Human Resource Generalist with Payroll/Benefits specialization will support the company processing payroll for employees that are multi-state and support all benefits and human resources functions


  •          Initiate and process semi-monthly payrolls for multi-state. Must have prior experience and be comfortable running full cycle payroll
  •          Manage garnishments, understanding of multi-state taxes, long and short-term disabilities, and understanding of benefits deductions, and commissions payments


  •          Assist with open enrollment and answering benefits questions from employees
  •          Responsible for employee onboarding, processing of new hires and terminations, employee salary & status changes and other updates in payroll system, benefit management system and other relevant systems
  •          Assist with 401k plans, interfacing with the provider and answering employee questions
  •          Process FMLA paperwork

Recruiting, On-Boarding, Off-Boarding

  •          Conduct recruitment efforts and assist with on-boarding and new-employee orientations
  •          Participate in exit interviews
  •          Compose and place job postings 
  •          Assist and solve any Human Resource-related questions for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and policies


  •          Assist with documenting HR processes and creating and updating HR forms and templates.
  •          Assist with maintaining company handbook
  •          Filing
  •          Maintain company organization chart
  •          Other assigned duties as requested







  •          Minimum of three (3) years proven experience as an HR Generalist
  •          Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Resources-related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed below
  •          Proficiency in payroll processing and knowledge of HRIS (ADP a plus)
  •          Skilled in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, ADP)
  •          High degree of discretion and judgment in confidential matters and information
  •          Strong attention to detail
  •          Excellent communication and people skills
  •          Aptitude in problem-solving
  •          Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
  •          Broad understanding of issues and compliance related to human resource responsibility and laws
  •          Ability to work with all levels of staff and management
