Job Description

  • Health care organization in Suffolk County looking for a full-time Insurance Follow Up/Customer Service Representative to join their team as soon as possible
  • Responsibilities will include:
    • Perform follow up on all outstanding accounts assigned in accordance with established standards and procedures
    • Determine reason for denial and appeal accounts as necessary
    • Review and edit any rejections stemming from electronic billing submissions and correct and resubmit claims
    • Verify accuracy of patient insurance and demographic information
    • Generate bills to patients for services not covered by insurance
    • Investigate over-payments and take appropriate action to resolve
    • Respond to requests for information and telephone inquiries from patients, insurance carriers, and outside agencies
    • Send secondary claims to appropriate payors   


  • 3+ years of Physician billing experience, including insurance carrier follow up
  • 1+ years of customer service experience 
  • Knowledge of Epic preferred
