Job Description

Our client, a women’s contemporary brand is seeking a Marketing Director to bring strategic brand and operational experience, with an emphasis on digital marketing. The successful individual will be digitally and social media savvy, and develop and lead marketing plans that will help transition from a department store brand to a consumer driven luxury brand.



Develops and executes marketing plans and programs by studying economic indicators, tracking changes in business results, identifying customers and their current and future needs, understanding customers shopping and media consumption behavior, and monitoring the competition

Together with the teams Brand Marketing, Wholesale, Retail, CRM, Online Marketing, and Email Marketing, this person will create an outstanding customer experience based on cross-channel marketing campaigns

Partner with the VP to develop annual marketing plans for the brand, wholesale and specialty customers; executes the plans and measures results

Partner with Public Relations, Sales and DTC team to develop multi-channel programs that support the business goals

Maintain relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer programs; determining company presence at store events, trunk shows, market presentations, etc.

Partners with the internal digital/eCommerce team and the brand’s digital agency to develop and oversee all digital brand awareness building tactics including digital display campaigns, both direct buys and programmatic efforts

Lead the paid social strategy, defining key objectives/KPIs and overseeing the implementation, optimization and reporting of this activity. Focus on trialing new paid social initiatives and determining ROI through online and offline conversion tracking. Work closely with central brand marketing to ensure organic social media plan is cohesive with the paid social strategy and overall marketing calendar

Advise on central marketing budget allocation with specific input towards digital marketing and social media. Oversee the management of this budget throughout the year, including scheduling expenses, analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions

Coordinate the implementation and execution of all programs with the stakeholders including the in house Creative Services and any external contractors and or vendors

Provide market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market, competitive and consumer data and insights; maintains a research database

Influence present and future products and programs by determining and evaluating current and future market trends

Completes marketing department operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results

Supports the development of marketing staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

Stay informed of all digital marketing innovation, particularly within mobile, social media, video and luxury arena. Identify opportunities and communicate these trends to wider departments to ensure innovation in this area


Bachelor’s degree in business discipline required

10+ years of experience working in a marketing function; project management are essential

Digital and social media experience required

Must have retail, apparel, accessories, fashion or beauty experience

Agency experience preferred

Must have an understanding of the marketplace, marketing research and demonstrate expertise with marketing plan development and managing processes

Develop and manage annual budgets

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing team members to implement marketing strategies

Strong digital media proficiency including social media insight

Executive building relationships, managing people and leadership skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills

A basic understanding of competition and our target consumer

Maintain excellent organizational and time management skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Flexible with an entrepreneurial drive
