The Sales Planner will create and execute successful retail and wholesale account strategies. In addition, this individual will support the account team by gathering and organizing selling and financial information and creating in season strategies to drive business objectives.
Initiate and direct the development of comprehensive pre-season planning strategies which identify opportunities related to product, people and profitability.
Originate seasonal financial performance projections and present in-season forecasts and recommendations to cross functional partners and senior leadership.
Analyze top line as well as store-line product data to better understand and speak to the trends and possibilities of the business.
Steer long and short term business and company goals/priorities by routinely presenting proposed strategies and analysis to internal and external partners.
Participate in department projects to improve efficiencies, process and systems.
Support the skill development of Associate and Assistant Planners as needed.
3-4 years of retail planning or retail buying experience, preferably in apparel
Must have expert command of retail math concepts and applications
Must be proficient in MS Excel and have aptitude to learn technical applications rather quickly
Must be a strategic and innovative thinker
