Job Description

Our major fashion ecommerce client is seeking an innovative and experienced Sr. Front-End Engineer to support their ecommerce operations. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who has previously worked within an Agile environment, and has the replete knowledge of Javascript and its libraries as well as HTML/CSS.

Responsibilities

Play a key role in building next-generation web applications

Evaluate and revamp existing front-end code, identifying areas for improvement

Specialize in building responsive and elegant web UIs

Work closely with back-end developers, creative and business teams, advising on front-end technical decisions for new site functionality

Develop high performance webpages, minimizing load time.

Evaluate the quality of code and provide quick, effective feedback to the team

Identify best-practices and evolutions in front-end development in areas including as HTML5/CSS3 and mobile web development

Contribute to project definition by suggesting technical and UI approaches that help achieve project goals

Lead the development and design of dynamic, interactive web pages using the latest web standards

Demonstrate outstanding skills in developing cross-browser / cross-media applications

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or comparable experience

3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on UI and thorough understanding of front-end best practices

Proficiency with the basics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Detailed understanding of functional or OO programming with a focus on modern front-end technologies

Knowledge of one or more JavaScript libraries such as underscore, lodash, jQuery

Detailed experience in at least one JavaScript web application framework/library: React/Redux, Backbone, Angular, Ember, Knockout

Experience and understanding of CSS preprocessors SASS/LESS

Good understanding of revision control systems (GIT), deployment processes (ANT)

Experience with Node and JavaScript templating: Mustache, Handlebars

Build, process, and package mgmt tools: Webpack, Grunt, NPM

Understanding of modular code structures: CommonJS, AMD, UMD, RequireJS

Experience consuming RESTful web services & servers such as Apache or Nginx

Good understanding of server-side web frameworks such as JSTL and JSP or ASP.NET

Active in developer community including Meetups, User Groups, Github, personal blog or technical writings is a plus
