Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide accounting and analytical support for numerous aspects and departments of the business 
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets for all accounts 
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the team during the month-end close period 
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and reconcile to ensure ledger maintenance 
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts 
  • Communicate with third party vendors, the finance team, and other business contacts to ensure all accounting activity is up to date and consistent 
  • Coordinate and run semi-annual audits of all accounts 
  • Determine and recommend new ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue 
  • Run and present reports to determine forecast expenditure 
  • Review contracts regularly and work with accounting team to determine appropriate actions 
  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns 
  • Perform other accounting duties as needed and support junior staff 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 
  • CPA certification preferred (Or Someone Motivated to Achieve Certification) 
  • 3-7 years’ experience in accounting 
  • Proficient knowledge of tax laws and GAAP 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality working with financial data 
  • Excellent analytical skills and balance sheet account reconciliation experience 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel 
  • Experience working with large amounts of data in Excel, Alteryx and Tableau a plus
