We're Planning to Get Fit and Job Hunt In 2017

December 29th, 2016
new year's 2017Losing weight and its companion, getting fit and healthy, are the two most common resolutions people make. They are, also, among the most common resolutions that get broken.

In fact, according to Statistic Brain, fewer than two-thirds of us who make any resolution at all keep them past the first month. Six months after New Year's Day, only 46% of the resolution makers have kept them.

It's easier to keep a resolution if you never make one, which could be why 38% of us never make a resolution. Another 17% of us are infrequent makers of resolutions, leaving only 45% of us who make a resolution every year.

Cumulatively resolutions regarding self improvement or education account for 47% of all resolutions made. Weight related resolutions come in second at 38%. Money resolutions are third at 34%, and 31% are relationship resolutions.

While it may not rise to the level of a resolution, CareerBuilder tells us that 22% of the full-time workers it surveyed plan to change jobs next year. Millennials are the ones most planning a job change, with 35% of those in the survey say they intend to switch in 2017.
